Band Boosters

About the Band Boosters:

The Addison School Band offers our students a high quality music education. You can hear time and time again about the importance of Arts in Education and there are many well-documented benefits of music education. The Addison Band offers students benefits even beyond these great educational opportunities. In a school of 900 students, it is easy to develop an instant network of friends. Ninety percent of our students who join the Addison Band, stay in the Band primarily because we offer a great blend of hard work and commitment with pure fun and enjoyment. Perhaps most importantly, our students are creating remarkable memories that will last throughout their life. Ask any of our students to list their most fond high school memories and they will undoubtedly tell many stories of their band experiences. We pride ourselves in creating a fun, challenging, and supportive environment, which helps to inspire our students to reach their full potential. Our mission is to educate students, in cooperation with the family and community, to have the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to achieve their potential as socially responsible, lifelong learners in a diverse and changing society. Music is an integral part of a comprehensive education. It enables all students to discover and develop their artistic potential through musical experiences in listening, performing, analyzing, moving and creating. Musical experiences enhance the student’s quality of life through heightened aesthetic awareness, healthy social relationships and fun! Music incorporates understanding from all disciplines and leads to an improved self-concept, a broader cultural awareness, and a development of life-long skills. The Addison Band Boosters meetings are held the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM. Please join the Band Boosters.

In order to continue to do so, we need to collect as much information as possible regarding the involvement of parents and the building your children attend. The purpose of this survey is to get your opinion on how well the schools have met your family's needs. The findings of the survey will be summarized and used to make improvements.
