|Position:||High School Special Education|
Hello! My name is Tom Colson and I have been a special education teacher at Addison for sixteen years. I earned a degree in art education from Western Michigan University and a degree in special education from Eastern Michigan University.
My classroom is a regional program that serves 9th through 12th grade students with special needs from Addison, Hudson, Morenci, and Sand Creek. The focus of my classroom is preparing students for adulthood by teaching life skills, vocational skills, and functional academics. Some highlights of our year include a Christmas bake sale, an Iditarod unit study, our classroom store, and various community outings.
In my spare time, I enjoy kayaking, hiking, home improvement projects, and spending time with my wife and four children.
