Welcome Mrs. Dowling’s Darlings and parents! Kindergarten is a wonderful year for you and your child. You will see every student grow into a confident reader, an interesting writer, a well-rounded mathematician, and a curious scientist. I cannot wait to see my darlings grow this year!
Let me tell you a little about myself. This is my eleventh year of teaching. I taught K-2 in Boca Raton, FL for three years, one year in Jackson, and this is my seventh year here at Addison Schools. I was born and raised in a suburb outside of Columbus, Ohio. I received my undergraduate degree at Capital University. Once I graduated, I moved to Florida for a teaching position. While I was there, I met my amazing husband, Brian Dowling. He is originally from the Addison area, so after we were married we relocated to his hometown. I completed my Master’s Degree in Reading and Literacy from Marygrove College. Brian and I have three fur babies, Tess and Winston who are Scottish Terriers and Bella who is a Jack Russell Terrier. We also have a sweet baby girl named Coralynn!
This year, we will be exploring all Kindergarten standards through music, technology, activities, and so much more! My goal is for every student to be enriched with meaningful literature, explore the world around us, and apply mathematics through practice and hand-on learning. Our classroom is a mistake-making, laughter-sharing, independence-building, brain-stretching sort of place! Everyone matters!
Together we will make this a fantastic year!
